I wouldn't normally bake - I love cooking but not baking; anyway I have made cheese scones (the whole batch has been demolished and a 2lb banana cake - half of which is already gone!
Any ideas what I can make with pastry now??

Joy Babes, hope you and the Butler are well.
Please put up your recipe for egg and bacon pie. I could fancy that.
I bet your counting the days till Littleman goes to school. Has he got a uniform, or can they wear anything.
Speaks soon

Traditional egg and bacon pie

Ingredients:

500g of short crust pastry
12 eggs
4 thick slices of unsmoked back bacon
Salt and ground white pepper
A little butter for greasing the pie dish

Method:

Grease a 9 ½ inch (24cm) pie dish well.
Roll out about two thirds of the pastry on a floured board and line the pie dish including the rim.
Crack six eggs into the pastry lined dish. Sprinkle with a little ground white pepper.
Place two slices of thick cut bacon gently over the eggs.
Crack another six eggs into the pie dish and finish off with the other two slices of bacon and sprinkle with a little more ground white pepper.
Roll out the rest of the pastry to make a lid for the pie. Make two small slits in the top and bake at 175 degrees for about an hour.
Chill before serving

Thanks for the recipe Joy, will have a go, but does it freeze.

Yes, I know you will all be sad to see him go, but I bet he will look a little bobby dazzler. When does he start.
No more nipping off in the afternoon to to the cinema with nanna to watch 'Cats and Dogs' LOL
Will be thinking of you all.
All the best

Joy Babe, glad it freezes, so I'll try it.

Littleman is so lucky to have a Nanna like you, making sure he does not miss the pictures. LOL

We used to have a 'flea-pit' in our local town, which saved travelling 12 miles to Derby or Nottingham, and the prices were cheaper. Up until a couple of years ago, they had a Wednesday matinee. This was brilliant for older folks, that did not want to be out in the dark at night. Used to break our weeks up nicely, in the winter. Then they stopped it, and only have matinees in the school holidays. We used to enjoy going, then nipping into the Co-op for a cuppa afterwards, and I always left something in the slow oven for when we got home.
Will have to e-mail the manager and give him an ear bashing.
Take care now

I would ask the cinema to reconsider the matinee session; perhaps they thought people weren't interested.

The egg and bacon is the winner..... This will be my baking session for tomorrow; along with some more cheese scones.

Couldn't resist looking in, even tho' baking means pastry and oven
*shakes head* not me, not me at all

BUT
Joy I love the bacon and egg pie recipe thankyou. I will try that if I can find ready mixed pastry and it's cool enough to put an oven on.
mentioned it to OH and he liked the idea (shucks I'm committed *to an asylum I hope* ) he also mentioned savoury pie his mum used to make

pastry bottom layer of sausage meat layer of onion, then tomato, then other condiments (he said) topped with sausage meat and crust.
