Best way to get them done ....get quotes for said work and drop it in to conversation that you think A, B or C is a good one to whoever, and ask their opinion ...They should then say I can do that (hopefully) cheaper. (especially if you use a rival person.

I had similar builder (master builder at that),another 3 builders, joiner , painter and decorator, roofers and slabbers and a shutterer.

I knocked my wall down between 2 rooms I rebuilt the hole with a lintel and archway , I removed the fire place bricked it up (and an unwanted doorway) carved a recess into it ..replastered a lath wall and the bricked up doorway and shock horrors I rewired half the house and put lighting into the chimney breast. I also one Xmas day managed to spend half the day under the kitchen sink fixing a leak that had flooded the kitchen out.

When I say I believe me it was I not me and dad or me and OH or me and BIL just ME ....with Dad on the end of a phone sometimes.

DET's right they do say a plumbers house has a dripping tap same as the mechanics wife complains about her car.


Now I don't even let on I can change a plug .......

They say that a plumber's house is the one with a dripping tap!

How come I have an electrician; roofer; plumber and joiner in the family and I can't get my leaking roof fixed, my lightput up in the kids bedroom and new staircase spindles.......
