Has anyone came across this bit...?

As some of you may be aware of this feature before, but what I didnt know about (Didnt think of clicking that link before til now) that you can search for the postems.

http://www2.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/ShowPostems.pl

I did a test, select "as below" put down Smith in the 'Information contains' or 'Record contains' and clicked on Marriage - had some results, so that's good :o)

If this have been mentioned before, then I'm willingly stick my hand out for a gentle slap (gentle ok ?!).

Postems are used when someone wishes to add info for a particular entry.

I and a lot of other members have added the details of certificates we have ordered. This can then help other researchers so that they don't waste money in sending for the wrong certificate.

It is advisable to state where the info is from as a postem cannot be removed once it has been entered.

If you see an envelope next to an entry on Freebmd, someone has added a postem, just click on it and you will see what has been written.
