Well as some of you know, I work for a 3 lettered high st retailer (B*S) and we have started gettng our Xmas stock in, we usually put our Xmas shop into the stores on the 1st weekend in October, well this year we don't put it in until the weekend of the 16/17th of October. You can guarentee that we usually have people complaining about it being too early but I always say that most people nowadays get payed monthly and that only gives them 2 paydays until Xmas, and with people tightening their belts, they do like to spread the cost of the shopping.
For those who do shop regualary in our shop at Xmas, you will know that we have a cuddly toy that we sell in store every year, well we had our 1st delivery of this years toy and I must say he's cute this year.

Well we have T**co in our town, in the next one down the road they are building a brand new A**a, (opening in November) and next town on from that we have a M*******sons, which I use. All these choices, and the competition. But people here, as in many other areas, are already on a limited budget, so how they will all make it pay, I don't know. But they will.

Julia
My daughter and her friends always use those sweets as an indicator that the shops will soon be pushing their Christmas stock.
We might have a bit of a reprieve though, our nearest Tes** is having major alterations that won't be finished until October.

I noticed Santa suits, cards and wrapping paper in a nearby small town today.
