Age is all in the mind. The secret is keeping it from going southwards. |

Hello all my fellow Silver Surfers and Hello Mau on the coast still paddling along thankyou, it is good to read all the answers, I find it keeps my brain ticking over especially when having a good search for something, makes you think laterally as well as backwards, |

Mau - I think why you - we - can do these sums in our head is because we all used to have "mental arithmetic" in school- oral sums, and what's more none of them were decimal! not money, or weights and measures - I am safer doing sums than using a calculator! |

Looks like Awdrey is the Grandma of GR followed closely by Elizabeth! `Any more for any more! I am far too young... *ahem...* to be in the running, being a mere stripling of 74 but I think we are all wonderful and I now cannot imagine life without my computer. |

And remember for some of us oldies (76 me) the computer has been a real blessing. I have become too deaf to use the phone or the radio but with e-mail I can communicate with friends and family, and shopping, without asking for help, get the news and a lot of information from browsing - and of course the interest of being able to pursue a hobby like genealogy on line! the last few years would lhave been pretty bleak without my computer. |

Rita, you may be one of the oldest on here, I dont know, But OH has a cousin of 94, who keeps in touch with his family by e-mail and is very competent. More power to his elbow I say. |

You all sound such great girls! Just like my 96 yr old m-i-l, who says she still feels 17 inside and would love to use the computer, but can't because her eyes are failing. She always wears make-up and nail polish and does the cryptic Telegraph crossword every day (and usually completes it!) |

This old lady would love to use her bus pass, but it means someone has to take me two miles to the nearest town to catch one, and meet me coming back! My brain feels young enough, but the body Ugh. |
