Getting there Deanna, thanks

My friend is still stuck here in England instead of being home with her family, she is fed up and will have to do the long drive home on her own which is too much for her these days.

All the bales of hay are gathered up and stored away now, obviously the farmer isn't leaving it out as he usually does. It has been set on fire in the past by vandals so maybe he doesn't want to risk it this time with the shortage of stuff around.

Hi Deanna, sorry I missed you!

My friend who has been over from Germany for a few weeks should have gone back on Saturday and I hadn't had a chance to see her at all, with her busy schedule and mine, her hubby shared the driving over here and had one week with her. She then stayed on alone, in a flat rented from someone she has got to know through renting her son's flat a couple of years ago and her hubby was flying back to help her with the drive back, which until this year she did alone. They decided to stay on till Monday as the flat was still available and then they loaded the car up with all the things she has bought or collected since here, including a huge 'holey' stone off Cromer beach. One year they bought a huge heavy table and other furniture lol Her poor hubby loaded up the car and then tried to start it, luckily they still had hold of the door keys to the flat before putting them through the letterbox as they found the car wouldn't go! Her husband has had to go on a coach to the airport to get a flight home - he owns a nursing home and needs to get back - and my friend has to wait for the car to be fixed and then drive back alone I suppose when it's ready. Bet the air was blue or whatever colour German swearwords make it lol
To cap it all I can't contact her by phone, as the landline has gone down at the flat so having to send emails and messages through facebook, which is how I found out about her hassles.
Hoping I can get out to see her if she doesn't leave until Thursday.
What a lot of problems tho, must be her unlucky time too, we are both Leos

Hi Jean, oh I am not complaining, just wish I had known he was planning it before I put the washing on, it could have waited.
Not to worry, I gave everything a good shake and it's now airing on the linen airer.
Gone very chilly now too

At least you understand why he is doing it, Purple. It is such a poor harvest this year that they cant risk losing any of it.
The forecast is good for the next couple of days.

Once o.h. had gone to work, all flustered and leaving behind his shower stuff so he will have to have a bath at 10.30pm when he gets home, I put some duvets out on the line to air, before I pack them away. I haven't had much chance to do it lately with the weather being iffy and him liable to knock into them with the mower or whatever he is up to outside. It's a lovely afternoon!

Heard a noise a few minutes ago, looked out and the farmer is mowing the corn/wheat whatever it is. The field is a mere 10 feet from the linen line, albeit there is a hedge and a couple of trees at the end of the garden to take most of the dust but can imagine the duvet will get some of it too. Normally they start over the other side of the field but today he has two lots of machinery and is working both sides at once! He will probably go on mowing till past dark to get it in before any further rain, he has been known to start again at 4am by floodlight if he doesn't finish in time. The first time he did that I thought vandals had got in and started up the harvester etc and rang the police lol

I have a machine full of bedlinen to hang out in a mo as well, typical eh?

Glad the wedding story went down well lol
