Hi Huia

Thanks for your reply. I had contacted Genes beginning of August and had a reply saying they would look into this! I have been on vacation and returned end of August and found that the problem is still there!! I have now contacted them again as it appears after chatting to other members that there is definitely a fault on my site.

Cheers.

That is strange. I had a look at mine, pretended I was going to send a message to somebody on my hotmatch list, one I have not contacted, and there is still the tiny box with the tick in it.

Perhaps you should send a message to the GR team.

Hi everyone - thanks to all for your responses really appreciated!

This problem has only occurred over the last month or so as I had not experienced this earlier in the year and can confirm then I did have the untick box facility but on recent use this has now 'disappeared"!

I have cut/pasted below exactly what is written on the right hand side in the 'purple section":

Next step: Send a message
If you think you share relatives with xxxxxxxxx, send a message to find out more
Subject:
Message:

Allow this member to view my family tree ** there is nothing here, ie no box to un tick !

Send Message - I can only press to send my message.

I am beginning to think that this is only me that it is affecting!!!!!

Once again many thanks.

Cheers.

In the reply box on the Hot Matches page, there is a small box above the sentence 'allow this member.....'. There is a tick in the box (not an arrow). Click on the tick to remove it.

Hi Claire

I have just checked again but I definitely do not have an arrow to untick above the" send message"!!! It is only giving me the send message option.

Is this only me it is happening to?!!

Anyway many thanks for your help Claire have a great day!

Regards.

Hi Lyn

I know - some days just don't seem to be the best!! Also it's hard to describe how to do something when you don't really know what they're seeing on the screen!!

On the Hot Matches pages you get a section to send a message and that's what I was describing - an arrow that you can delete. Took me a while to work that out as well and I do think this site can be confusing at times...
anyway there's always a way to stop access to your tree.

Hope today is better xx

Hi Claire

Thanks for your reply

I have't got an arrow in the purple reply message box - it's just says under message:

"Allow this member to view my family tree"

and underneath that

send message!

Sorry Claire just realised did you mean go into their contact box info and stop access to my tree from there? (I'm not having a good day today!)

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.

Hi Lyn

Just click on the arrow in the box next to where it says 'give access etc' and it will disappear so your tree cannot be viewed.

Hi everyone - advice please! I have just gone into my latest hot matches came across someone who has a possible connection with myself and as I was filling in the message section realised that the option has gone re: choice of giving/not giving access to my tree and it now states "allow this member to view my family tree". Obviously I do not want anyone to have access to my tree unless there is a definite connection! Anyone else with this dilemma? Cheers. Lyn
