Things that remind you of fall -- was just talking about that with No.1 last night!

I left the office after dark to go home next door. I was walking down the front steps and ahead of me was the streetlight. My youngish soft maple tree (about 5 years old and 15 feet tall and bushy - fast-growing weed) was between me and the streetlight, and a big wind was blowing the branches around, so the streetlight would disappear behind leaves and then reappear. That was just so "fall" to me.

No.1 said he'd gone for a walk up to the park that afternoon, and the same thing -- a big wind came up blowing the maple trees there, and the whooshing of the wind through the trees was a classic "fall" sound to him.

It's something about the air that makes the bells sound different, do you think? The dratted humidity gone, maybe. ;)
