Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

On this day the funeral of DIana, Princess of Wales
was held.

The procession started from Kensington Palace, past Buckingham Palace and then to Westminster Abbey for the service.

There are so many images of this day.

RIP Diana

I can remember exactly where I was when I heard she had died. I was walking the streets of Ely, near the cathedral, about 6.15 a.m. when I met a man walking a couple of dogs. He asked if I had heard the news.

On the day of the funeral we were in York and when we went to the Minster they had a TV for people to watch the funeral, so we couldnt have a look around.

About a week later I was in Manchester. I wanted to visit the Cathedral where my gt grandparents and his mother had married. There was a memorial service for Di. I had to go back later to look around the Cathedral.

Huia.

We had just moved to our home that needed massive renovations.

Our middle child (then aged 7) came up about 7am to our bedroom to tell us the news.

We spent the day in what is now our study, watching TV in the dust and grime and sorrowing.

At the same time OH's Dad was dying in hospital and OH always says that the grief for his father was lost in the grief for Diana. Sad days.

The day of Diana's funeral we were on the motorway to attend F-i-l's funeral in London, the flowers and crowds were spectacular.

I just sat and watched everything on tv, I was so sad for the young princes especially and cried for them.

Rest in Peace Diana, you must be looking down on your lads and helping to guide them to be the wonderful young men they have become.

l remember phoning people and getting phone calls about the news, everyone was in shock, and preying the news from the hospital would be that she was still alive.
We went to the funeral....travelled by car to Horsham in Sx, where we were met by our daughter and then by train.
We watched it on the big screen in the park, walked to Kensington Palce gates, but could'nt get too close. Read some of the messages left by people. The flowers, tributes and candles were amazing. We saw the funeral procession and the crowds throwing flowers onto her car. People were sobbing in disbelief.
A beautiful, amazing women. The peoples Princess.
