Anyone remember him? My hairdresser doesnt. Who is the top hairdresser to the stars these days? AND, can anyone tell me why I always have to go back and put a second M in remember!

My late mum born 1927 used to talk about Mr teezie-weezie she said he was the celeb hairdresser of his time. Top hairdressers I think are Trevor Sorbie, there are various others who pop up on T.V shows involving makeovers.

I was about to say that, Bob!
A creepy man with a quiff and moustache - and possibly dyed hair!!

Thank goodness, i thought I had remembered wrong. Yes, it was Raymond now i think of it. hairdressers were big news in those days.
Does Trevor Sorbie actually have anything to do with it nowadays? i thought he had turned into a brand name now.

Mr Teasy-Weasy

Raymond Bessone, aka Mr Teasy-Weasy, was the Nicky Clarke of his day. He had a salon in Mayfair and a list of celebrity clients that made his competitors drool.

Like a true maestro Raymond would pace up and down the salon waiting for a customer to attract his attention. He would then throw his hands in the air, exclaiming, "Madam, can you not see that I am meditating!"

...And they loved it.

Vidal Sassoon began his career as one of Teasy-Weasy's staff and obviously aimed to outstrip his master. In 1956 Diana Dors had caused press hysteria by flying Teasy-Weasy to the USA for a £2,500 shampoo and set. Twelve years later Sassoon flew to the US to give a $5,000 cut to Rosemary's Baby star Mia Farrow.

Teasy-Weasy's fame has endured, and there are references to him in both Monty Python (Sir John 'Teasy-Weasy' Butler conquors K2) and Red Dwarf.

Teasy-Weasy was demonstrating his art in a Richmond hotel - a sort of hairdressing concert in aid of charity. People paid 5s - that's 25 pence in modern money - to get in and the place was packed - standing room only. It was a strange evening. You had all these models sitting in chairs. Teasy-Weasy glided up and down performing magic on their hair and the audience applauded. Afterwards I took his photo with what in those sexist days was called a dolly bird. The young blonde had the classic '60s look and resembled one of those spaced-out bimbos wandering around in Antonioni's movie Blow-Up. In his heyday Teasy-Weasy attracted huge publicity, especially when the actress and sex symbol Diana Dors paid him £2,500 to fly to the USA for a shampoo and set.

Vidal Sasson is currently on Loose Women and has just mentioned Mr Teasy Weasy Raymond, in fact Vidal was taught by Teasy Weasy. Vidal looked good for his age,( he's 84) mind you it's all done by cosmetic surgery.

wasn´t it Raymonde with an E. Very Francaise.
he had a salon in Brum where i used to occasionally go on "apprentice"nights. No chance of affording full salon prices. Mind you, they were very good.
