Thanks everyone for your replies. Hopefully he'll find something out of all these brilliant ideas. you never know?
If nothing comes up, I'll just have to put up with an untidy house till next semester. Can't believe how messy one teenager can be lol! :)

Has he put an ad on Gumtree for the area or looked to see if there is anything advertised on there?
Hope he finds somewhere soon, it's worrying when they haven't got things settled.

Try the local paper: Ormskirk Advertiser or maybe Southport Visitor.
Should find loads of rooms to rent in Southport - not too far away. Burscough is even nearer.

I think this is your sons uni !!?? which has a link and it tells you how to get help with housing

Ring the uni ..they may have last minute houses and also some students will get places then find people to share with so the student notice board will help

Also my son just said uni websites have direct links to houses for rent JUST for students so try there

Or the areas local paper which may be on the net!!

I know it's a long shot but, my son starts Edge Hill uni on the 20th and can't find anywhere to stay. He's tried everything and nothing is available on campus and all the rooms and flats through letting agents and landlords have been snapped up.
If anyone lives near Edge Hill uni or knows someone who can help it would be much appreciated.
He has people who could give him a lift if needed but, it's not ideal.
