why is it that when my great grandperants came to this country from Italy they had to learn to speek this launguage, but people that come here now do not? |

Maybe because they were willing to integrate whereas some of the new arrivals simply wish to continue their own culture at a new location. |

It's much the same when the Brits emigrate to Spain/France etc but refuse to learn the language or mix with the local inhabitants/culture. Its all very sad as they end up loosing out. |

Janet, yes if anyone emigrates to any country they should learn the language, and it is thier loss if they don't mix with the people. |
