After World War 1 does anyone know how long a widow had to wait before she could remarry? The soldier went missing in 1915 according to his memorial.

I have heard stories of "widows" remarrying, and then their husband turned up - although missing, had not been killed.
If no one on the board can answer your question, perhaps the Imperial War Museum could help.
I think these days if someone is missing for seven years they are presumed dead, but don't know when this rule started.

I think it was always 7 years.
