What Has Happened to Hot Matches???

What is going on with the Hot Matches, which I know aren't always that hot but I have had some successes.

I am just checking my latest ones and every one I click on I get this message
The names listed below are relations in (Name of Person)tree whose name and date of birth match your family tree

Send a message to Person to find out more.

1 of your Hot Matches is not appearing because of recent changes to relation details either in your tree or Person's tree. If you still wish to see these Hot Matches click here

I find it annoying and just more click here click there.

Has anyone else found the same?

I'm a bit confused also about hot matches. I received from
someone in my contacts asking to view my tree, no how
we are related etc. I apparently sent this person the same
message by using their full name and signing my full name.
Well I don't do that, always give some info on rellie and ask
if we have a match, never use the persons full name and I
never sign off with my full name.

Hi Goldengirl1

The mind boggles at what the heirachy on Genes do. Obviously they need to have a select few users who trial any changes they make to iron out any glitches.

I normally have no problem with it but I would never be so
rude as to ask someone to open their tree without giving
them info on a person, even if it did say please on the
message. Goodness knows where or who it came from
but certainly not me.

I am the same, I give them enough info on the person I am looking for so they can establish a link. I would never ask to see a tree outright without making a link.

Ingrid,

Have you recently uploaded a new gedcom file?

Emma,

Any messages sent by you will be in your Sent Messages box.

Are you sure this just wasn't a GR generated one? They do send messages to members saying they have found matches to their tree (Nothing to do with HotMatches) and on checking them out, the other member will then see your GR name

IGP I checked the message I was supposed to have
sent thats why I was taken aback by the wording. I have
that person in my contacts from some months back but as I've said would never word it that way plus giving Emma ----
and this person replying by Emma and my married name.
So confused as ever but have sent message to this contact asking about connection re rellie. Thank you for
helping.

Hi IGP

No I have not put up a new Gedcom. It was with every Hot Match.
Just another one of those little hiccups on here I suppose.
Cheers

The reason I asked is because I loaded a new gedcom last week and get the same message. I expect it to sort itself out the next time HM's is run.
