I have just noticed my new box of OXO's has been reshaped into an X where has the square one's gone ?????

So what I'm thinking ......are we getting less OXO as the hollow out on the sides of the X are missing .....so getting less for our OXO for money .
It does say 71g on the box ,but I don't have an old box to compare the weight even if the old one says 71g how can that be even though its less OXO in this new shaped CUBE ?

Go on say I'm a mad woman ....I don't care ...LOL

But very curious.........

I was just going to say the same, Linda.

I usually put mine individually into a jar with tight-fitting lid, though.

Box of 6 says 35grms.... so your X shape isn't depriviing you!.

EDIT
Oh... Thanks for explanation they wouldn't fit in my jar, so easily then.

Well our shops must be miles behind because mine are cubes.

I don't put them in tinned tomatoes Shelly, but I alway put them in with my Bisto gravy.

Don't worry Pauline mine are all square too. Either I missed them or they didn't have them here LOL

I add them to Bisto too, and if making stew or soup.

I used to have them as a drink after swimming lessons in an open air pool, it was always freezing then. Very evocative

Linda :o) XxX

OK.. OK ...OK ,

So I have old OXO's cubes until last week when I bought some new ones ....

But still think I have been diddled out of the amount in the X shaped cube.

Pauline & Linda, glad you got the old ones as well.....Shelly is just showing off ,just to let us think she does more cooking than us ....LOL

Didn't know it was because of X factor ......

When I was young .......a little girl Awwhhhh, I used to buy them instead of sweets . you could get 2 for a penny halfpenny .....oh dear don't know to type that !!

So that's why I still love them now and I do have them in Hot water as a winter drink ....

I squish the cubes while in the foil, also,
but not come across(NO pun intended there)the new shaped ones yet.........

GRMarilyn Report 13 Sep 2010 19:40

Bob, if you squish them in the foil, you will not have the pleasure of seeing if they are X ones .....LOL

Next time look first , its funny seeing the shape ......don't look right on such a memorial old OXO cube ....after all they were first made 1899 ..... think ..LOL

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 13 Sep 2010 19:45

Oh! I am a retired engineer, and would,(I am sure) be able to detect a different shape hiding in the foil.........LOL

but squidge away, in whatever method turns you on!!

LOL

Whenever one of us kids was poorly, Mum always gave us a cup of oxo with a slice of bread. I made this for myself once in the ward kitchen, and found myself explaining to a gynaecologist that it put the salt that you lost during an op back into your body, and she believed me!
