hi my brother was born in malaya in 1959 i have looked at overseas births in all catergories but have failed to find his name i have even tried the uk births register and no joy there either any suggestions as to why this might be |

our grandaughter was born in Hanover and her dad was a serving soldier posted in Germany at the time . Her birth is in the Army Indices and they had to record her at the British Embassy at the same time to relinquish her German nationality so she didnt have duel Nationality ie British parents born in a British Military Hospital but on German soil. |

Hi Shirley, yes, my brother and I were both born in the David Bruce Military Hospital ( British) on Maltese soil. Neither of us have dual nationality although I have asked about it. |

Dual Nationality would only occur if one parent was British and the other of say of 'Maltese' birth. |

hi my brother was born in malaya i cannot find any record of his birth my father was in the army at the time i have looked at overseas births and have not found him registered on there have looked at all overseas births that are on g u after malaya my father was posted to germany where we lived for 5 years before coming back to the uk no records of him on uk lists either he was born in january 1959 any ideas as to why i cannot find his birth record and where i should look now we didnt come back to the uk at all until my brother was about 7 im stuck as too where to look now |

Just a thought, have you looked for his birth registration after you arrived back in the UK? In other words 7 years after hs birth, or looked at the bottom of the page where he SHOULD be registered, where late registrations were handwritten? |
