I just want to say sorry

in advance to anyone I may upset in the near or distant future. Like most people I have off-days. Sometimes I say things (especially when typing) that can be taken the wrong way. Sometimes my sense of humour just doesn't come across as funny and can be upsetting to some people. Just want to say it is never deliberate (if it was, you'd know about it).

So, here is my commitment to try and do better.

Anyone want to join me?

Beverley, I don't think we have spoken, so you have never offended me in any way.
I lost a good friend because her husband read an email of mine and interpreted it wrongly (even though I think she read it right and it was addressed to her) but he, being the 'controller' type, told her not to write to me again. That was years ago and I haven't heard from her since - so I learned very early, that the written word doesn't necessarily come across as the spoken word does - so whatever I write, I ask myself if it can be interpreted another way - before I hit the Submit button.

Hi Berona

That is such a shame to lose a good friend that way. I understand about the written word being different from the spoken - hence my apology.

I can sometimes say things wrong which could have the effect of upsetting people so writing things wrong is worse because it's always there for everyone to see.

I never think it hurts to apologise in advance. At least people now know my intentions are good (and hopefully I won't be reported - lol)
