Some medications have to be wound down slowly as not good for the system to stop imediatley
OH was given Quinine tablest recently because he was getting bad muscle cramps in the legs. A week of taking them and he was very nauseous and didnt want to eat. He stopped taking them and the nausea stopped after a few days But I felt he should have asked the Doctor first but he is a stubborn ole Victor!!

Has anyone had a bad reaction to a medication? Once you have stopped taking it, how long before you felt normal? One ot the diuretics I am on, a recent addition, is giving me nausea, cramp, skin irritation and constipation. I have not taken it this morning, and the doctor is advising me to halve the dose. I am reluctant to take it at all. Thoughts please. May not be back on for a couple of hours, going to go and lie down, have vertigo as well.
