I am not too keen on the religious side, having a dislike for religion, but I must admit I loved it when my kids were little, all the excitement as they opened their presents, and I have had the pleasure of the same with grand kids.

I also get quite a buzz at helping out at the Christmas party at the old peoples home, brilliant fun.

So on the whole i don't mind Christmas.

It's not so much the day itself as the long, long, long run up to it.

I'm signing up too.

I used to love Chrimble but not now. There is just far too much run-in for it.

We will be in the sunshine over Christmas with nothing else to do but eat, drink and stay nice and warm while you all endure the snow.

Can't wait

To be honest I prefer Boxing day.
1. A lie in.
2. No mess from presents etc.
3. Just OH and me.
4. Bubble and Squeak for lunch. (Delicious).
5. Silence! (Rarity in this house).
6. Couple bottles wine.

Lol.

I like Christmas, and all things Christmassy.

I do not like the long run up to it, starting in August/September and going on and on and on.....
Crikey, once we get into December, people are already becoming sick of it, and by the time we get to Boxing Day many people are pulling the whole lot down and clearing the house of the tree and everything. What's THAT all about?
The 12th night of Christmas is on January 5th, leading into Jan 6th - Ephiphany. THAT's when it is all over!

I'm all for the "Keep Christmas to December" campaign!!!

Count me in to. I liked it when the children were little but not now, it gets out of hand.
And New Year , who likes that. Not me, maybe its because I am not a drinker, but I dislike ppl getting so drunk and wanting to kiss me at the strike of midnight and then I hardly see them again all year. Its all false to me. lol

I loved Christmas as a child, when we used to buy the tree and turkey christmas eve and decorate the tree, it was so magical, now all the hype leading up to it magic lost.. Children think they must invite us, but after 44 yrs I say to my OH would really enjoy being on are own, and have steak and chips. Also agree with Catherine regarding boxing day.

What month are we in? September??
Daughter just asked me what I was doing for Christmas.
I don't bleedy know!
I'd rather stay here alone.
As I don't drive, if I go to hers, (which she wants me to) either she or her hubby can't drink - and I feel guilty (through the alcoholic haze.)
If they came to me, someone (yet again) can't drink.

My sister holds a massive extended family pre-Christmas dinner - complete with 'Santa' (my brother) every year about the 2nd week of December - Can't that be Christmas?

December 25th is ( now the children have grown up) just another day.
My grandson's birthday is 30th December - I'll be over then!

I loved Christmas when the children were here!!
