Went to my first class yesterday and it was brilliant. The atmosphere was great - very friendly and everyone had a great time. Exercise but fun!!

I love watching Dancing with the Star and Strictly Come Dancing so really enjoyed doing an exercise class incorporating some of those moves - would recommend it to anyone.

Going to another classes on Monday - got the bug now.

My daughter has been doing it once a week for about 9 months loves it. Not sure if it is running around after her third child, but has lost a lot of weight.

I wish they would Julia! With Zumba, you dont need a partner its sort of keep fit exercise with salsa and belly dancing thrown in. If you google it there might be some in your area. Im in Coventry and theres one nearly every night here. Unfortunately we dont get to wear the amazing outfits, its more of leggings and tshirts! But I agree with you, dances like the rumba, cha-cha-cha, tango, macarena, meringue (sp?), lambada, are so exciting and fun. Albeit much harder than they look I imagine! x PS, Just googled zumba, Derbyshire and theres lots!

I quite fancy this Romany Star, for the same reasons as you both, but have not seen it advertised in my area, and infact, the first I have heard of it.
I did have dancing lessons in my youth, and always favoured the Latin ones more than the other. Though we did not have the same frocks they have now. Rather fancied myself doing the Maccerana (sp), when Brucie demonstrated it with his wife Wilnellia, on a programme once.
They ought to put the dancing lessons on the NHS. LOL

Thank you ;)

I have always wanted to do proper dance lessons - especially the Latin ones. Being overweight has made me really self concious so I didn't join up at the being but I have had a good talk to myself now - its a silly reason to not have a go and I really need to do something - so here goes...

I will report back on Friday - excited lol xx

Hi RomanyStar
I am going to my first one on Friday. The class started 2 weeks ago but I have only just got brave enough this week lol!!
My friend who does it absolutely loves it, so if all goes well on Friday I think we will be looking for more classes.
I have got to do something to get this weight down lol

(Its like salsa dancing!). Just started this month, my God it nearly killed me. Im doing 3 sessions a week and my hubby has started the gym! Bizarre for us really, dont know whats suddenly come over us. Taking our girls to see 'Annie' at the theatre tomorrow night, £65 for 3 tickets, I nearly died again.
