poe-kin me nose in here a little..

it is not always neccesary to copy n paste a complete genes address into the browser-bar.
most times all you have to do is modify the long number at the right to the number suggested............

ie change =1242148

to =724270 and hit the refresh icons

you can then save your tree to a CD or to a USB stick which is where I have mine saved and can keep it updated

GEDCOM, an acronym for GEnealogical Data COMmunication, is a specification for exchanging genealogical data between different genealogy software. GEDCOM was developed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an aid in their extensive genealogical research.

You can download a PAF program, free, from here

http://www.familysearch.org/

this program will let you import and export Gedcom files

Debbie copy and paste this into your browser to get Glen's excellent guide:

You need some kind of family tree maker software on your computer, You can buy or many can be downloaded for free just google for one. You will then be abale to print your tree or specific bits of it

Once you have that then you can download a gedcom. It is easy. You definately need your tree on your own computer,.
