Has anyone studied Manchester Cavalry Barracks?
There's always been talk in our family about the McLeans and the Scots Guards.
My Gt. Grandma was a McLean, supposedly born in Edinburgh
Her Father on her Marriage Certificate is named as Peter McLean and I have found 'A' Peter McLean on the 1841 census in the Manchester Cavalry Barracks.
The dates are all about right
Does anyone know if there is any documentation to tell what Regiments were in the Barracks at any said time please?
Do you think Manchester Library have any records for the Barracks?

It gives a history of the Scots Guards and apparently the 1st battalion were in Manchester around that time during some troubles there.

You could also get in touch with the Scots Guards Museum.

Manchester is mentioned in the last paragraph under the first heading of "The Napoleonic Wars" section.
