I, that is the OH and myself, watched this when it was on before. It was so interesting and enlightening, and of course, it was good to learn about other people's culture. We also were amazed Jude, at the revelation that the girls remained a virgin until marriage. It truely gave an insight into misconceptions about the gypsy way of life.
Very enjoyable,
Julia in Derbyshire

l loved it Liz. Did'nt know it had been on before. Sadly like in all cultures etc there's good and bad , and always the bad give the wrong impression to the whole.
l found it amazing in this day and age that the girls were virgins until they married, l wonder if the lads were!!
And that they don't go out to pubs clubs etc, keeping them away from drugs and drink....brilliant
So much more respect for their elders:o)

Teresa, glad you enjoyed it. I thought it showed a different side to the stereotype picture many people have of Gypsies etc hence letting folk know it was on.
I love programmes that show how others live.
I cried when I watched a prog I recorded at the end of August, it was Zimbabwe: The Forgotten Children. To see those youngsters wanting to go to school and no money to pay their fees, and to see the dreadful way they had to live, often going to bed with no food all day and rooting for old bones to sell from the rubbish tips to get money for school etc, it broke my heart.
This modern world is not a good place to be for so many people, yet their presidents etc always have so much and are so greedy.

I watched it. It was really interesting how and why they married so young.

On again tonight at 10.05pm Channel 4, thought it might interest people as I found it quite interesting when it was first shown.
