Make sure you've done your and OH (if you trust her!) ISA as a first step.

Which ever organisation you choose, and you are probably aware anyway, make sure that you have less than £50k under any one licence. It's worth looking at the small print to check as some BS/Banks sell under or through different organisations.

4.25% sounds good to me if you are happy to tie it up although Moneysupermarket suggest BMsavings for 5 years at 4.60%. Edit - its a fixed rate bond, not an ISA. We've had 2 newsletters in from different IFA's. One says interest rates will rise next year, the other says they are unlikely to. Hmmm.
