Thank you all very much. Later additions to the Parish Registers did contain the words 'buried in wool' which I knew all about...but I'd never come across 'Affid' before.

I've been trawling through some old Parish Registers for Wood Dalling in Norfolk and while looking through 'burials' noticed that a lot of deceased had the abbreviation 'Affid' after their names and before the date.
Can anyone tell me what that means?
