Hi Ailsa

You need Scotlands People for this and it is a pay per view site......you can do a free search but you have to buy credits to view and download the results.

There is only 1 marriage about that time:

2 1934 MACLEOD GEORGE SCOTT CHRISTINA BRUCE INVERNESS /INVERNESS 098/0A 0141

It is available to see the actual marriage record for 5 credits.

It costs £6 for 30 credits......1 credit to do the search and then 5 credits to view the actual image, so very good value. :-))

Hi Alisa,

George Mcleod aged 39, a motor mechanic, was married on 18 July 1934 to Christina Bruce Scott, aged 40 a shopkeeper.

George and Christina were living at 10 Island street, Galshields, Inverness.
Georges father Hugh mcleod a chief petty officer, retired...mother,
Kati Mackenzie.

Christina's father.. James Warrington Scott a grocer.
Mother.. Mary Rae, deceased.

If you would like a copy of the marriage image let me know.

Thank you guys this is the one i was looking for

i shameful to say i have been neglecting my tree search over the last year or so due to work and uni

the last time i tried to search this info was not available as you couldn't search after 1932 clearly this has now changed which is fantastic.

George Mcleod is my G grandfather who put his children my grandmother and siblings in a home and then remarried less than 2 years later and never came back for his children. i believe he had a child with this wife before disappearing sometime before October 1939

i know the home was still 10 island street in 1942 as i have a letter she wrote

is there anyway that i can view birth cirt details
i have tried on Scotlands people but you cant see the parentage

also i can see that my GG Grandfather says he is a petty officer, retired do you know if there is anyway to trace this also on the 1901 census he was down as a fisherman i'm assuming he rose through the ranks

plus any tips on searching would be very much appreciated

Hi Ailsa,

I have had a look on SP for a birth of a child for Mcleod from 1934 to 1939, there are hundreds.
If you had a christian name, that would help.
It is very easy to trace back from Hugh and his wife, look for their marriage, that will give you their ages and parents names, it might even give when their parents were married.
You will find all on Scotlandspeople.
