Thank you for your comments- there are comments on the forum about the contrast between the background and the text and I suddenly took fright !!

Yes,I agree handling a book is part of the pleasure but it is not so easy to get to the library these days

Yes, I must admit I was unsure at first but having just read Pride and Prejudice again I can honestly say that after a few pages I forgot I wasn't holding a book! Thought it would be difficult at first at my age but I can't wait now to read all the other (free) classics. Also just started Room (not free) by Emma Donoghue, gripping stuff so far!
The print size was a major consideration for me but with 8 sizes to choose from reading is again a great pleasure for me.
My OH says and for him it keeps me quiet........

Strange, I have held back from getting one so far. Son has a different one and loves it. But to me half the pleasure of reading is handling the actual book. Can't imagine it would be the same somehow.

Hi Elizabeth, My Kindle arrived last week, Being an avid reader and the Library some distance away I am loving it. Have downloaded over 30 free classics which I am looking forward to rereading and a few books that I really wanted. The setup to wireless was simple and downloading books takes about 1 minute so far. Being on the wrong side of 70 I found it very easy to bring the print to the size I wanted, think there are about 6 sizes in all. Love it, even got a red cover for it!

Hi, Elizabeth, My daughter has one and loves it, the text is small but perfectly easy to see, there were two prices, she had the dearer one, I dont know what difference there is between them, we just paid the bill....lol...

Have been reading the comments on the Kindle Forum (before ordering) and am now wondering how clear the text is - for someone whose eyesight is not as good as it used to be !

Can someone who has a Kindle comment please ?
