I try not to be involved in conversations about ailments and very rarely mention anything that might be wrong with me. all too dull. Recently though I had one that is lovely to slip into the ailment chat as nobody knows what it is and can't usually top it so go on to talk about something else.I had a sequestrum.Actually it is when you have had a tooth out and, later, a bit that was broken off works it's way through the gum but you can play it how you like.

That is the joy of it. It can be made to sound ever so painful which,of course it is not.It is just an old bit of tooth wiggling it's way out.

Te word is best delivered in a whisper.

I was very brave but you wouldn't want to hear the details.

The family rallied and were very supportive.

You could of course make it sound even worse and say
"I have a sequestrum and it could become necrotic"!!!

Or use it as a milestone in my life. When I had my sequestrum.

Actually, having tried all the tools in a manicure set to no avail, I did have to get the dentist to pull it out. It is the first time I have found a use for the things in a manicure set.

Sharron
I had that but didnt know it had a name , although to be fair my dentist when he took original tooth out he did tell me the bit of root that had broken off and he couldnt get (after a lot of digging around) might work its way out.
I had to go to hospital and have it taken out in end as it was causing a lot of jaw ache maybe i was playing with it too much and moving it around too much lol.

At least I kow it now has a name I shall sleep better for that and add it to my long list of thing ive had

goodness what is that Annie?
My offspring has Osgood Schlatters which is common in growing children. A lot of youngsters at the offsprings age have got it. The bones in knee area seem to be growing quicker than the rest of the body but it settles in time.
