I may be a bit stupid or just plain blind but every time i do a search to find anyone in my family i get results from England and Wales , very frustrating ! Can anyone give me a tip or answer on how to get results for Scotland i don't have very many relatives in England and Wales.

If anyone can help me it would be appreciated a lot!

Thanks!

GR do not have access to Scottish records.

Ancestry have transcriptions of census

www.scotlandspeople.gov

Free to search but pay per view. BMDs extractions be viewed immediately and contain more details than the English certificates

Claire, is it Ancestry you're trying to search on or Genes?
Sadly, as Tootyfrooty says, there are no Scottish records on Genes. They don't tell people this when they encourage them to part with cash though.
You can get some Scottish stuff on Ancestry, census 1841 - 1901 and some Parish records, school records and military records, but for BMD it has to be Scotlandspeople.
Who are you looking for? PM if you'd rather not put details on the forum.
If I can give you any tips then I will, I've learned from my mistakes over the years!
