We had a large bird crash into one of our glass doors Rose. I waited for my son to go out and see to it but just as he opened the door a very groggy bird hopped to the end of the patio then flew off. It must've been stunned.

They're surprisingly resilient aren't they SueMaid, though having said that I've had to bury two starlings that crashed head first into the window.

A couple of years ago we had a young Sparrowhawk fly straight into the living room window and knock itself out , OH rushed out and picked it up ( still stunned ) , he put it on the window sill and a moment later it flew off . Our living room has fairly large windows each end of the room , I guess it thought it could fly straight through as it could see light on the other side .

perhaps not having spotless shiny windows has its merits?

My windows are rarely squeeky clean Bob .... I have three dogs that press their noses all over them on a daily basis ....lol

Rose, you do realise' ikkle mousie' may come back - and set up home in your house for the winter!!!

Lol Maggie, I am moving soon so if he does he is out of luck. He was a wood mouse so probably won't return.

We had one move in when we lived in Wales, he made his home in an organ lol, only realised he was there when the sheet music fell out in little shreds ...awww he had made his nest with it and plotted a route to the kitchen where he had collected the peanuts bought for the birds and made a winter store of them :)

'Ikkle mousie' will probably provide a welcome party for the new tenants then.
..at least they won't be able to accuse you of taking everything!! LOL

...I'm so relieved I didn't give my windows a biannual clean today - now i have an excuse not to!!
