She called me after tea to say the plane 'was broke' so I have no idea what time she got home, it should have been 9-ish.

Thanks Carole in Lincs for organising th flowers for Joyce. They must have shown her that she is well thought of by her many friends on Genes.

Good to hear too that she will be able to get out and about more using her new wheelchair. Hope her scooter arrives soon, so she can go futher afield without having to power the thing herself.

Thinking of you Joyce and familky,

Haven't had a chance to talk to Joyce as o.h. about so much but will try today later on.
Glad she liked the flowers and they will have cheered her as will the news of the scooter and wheelchair. Shame it's coming up to winter so she won't be able to try the scooter out so easily but she can get in a bit of practice ready for spring, unless we get some brighter warmer weather soon for that Indian Summer lol

Caz, hope you are coping ok with the workmen, will try and call you next week when o.h. is on nights so will leave the house around 5.30pm yippee!

Carole Report 22 Oct 2010 11:13

Pleased Joyce got her flowers. Hope they were nice. Haven't spoke to her for a few days but will call soon.
Great that she is getting a scooter! It will hopefully make a huge improvement in her life, specially in the summer.

Joyce got her flowers and they are beautiful, she wants me to thank all who have contributed, she is really touched by them. She has all the names on a card and read them off to me. Actually she sounds a lot better and is comforting me now, so it will take her mind off other things.

Good news for Joyce, I have spoken to her tonight and the lady who came to see her gave her a smaller wheelchair and told her she is having a scooter specially made for her. Can't be bad, a custom built one, no, really her back and feet are so bad she is having to have one made to support her back and her feet as she can't feel them. I am so pleased for her, something good at last, it will be a big one so she can't go into shops with it so I won't be able to have a giggle at her knocking tins over, lol. Joyce said it only goes 8mp though, I think she would have liked to have whizzed down the canal paths with her hair flying behind her.
She sounded a lot better, I think she will be settled now Julie has been laid to rest.

Thanks for the update Caz. Good news that Joyce is now able to eat a little. Hope all goes well with the mobility scooter.
Next time you speak to her, ask if she is going to get the souped up version, that can go at seventy miles an hour!

Hopefully Joyce and Jan will be able to be in Liverpool for the scattering of the ashes.

My thoughts are with her and all the family especially today, during the cremation.

I am so sorry but I forgot to let you know yesterday about Joyces daughter. Joyce said she is being cremated on Thursday (today) and her ashes scattered on the Mersay, Julie the daughter always said she wanted to go back to Liverpool, this way she is going.
Joyce is a lot better now and coming to terms with it all. She has a lady coming this afternoon to talk about Joyce having a mobility scooter, she doesn't speak English so Jan is taking the afternoon off. I dread to thin of her going round the supermarket on it but she laughed when I told her.
I am having a wetroom put in so I might not be on here much, I am being sent to the guest room while the heavy work and noise goes on.
