I can't find my Gt. Grandmothers death anywhere either. Born Tullett, married a Newman and then married a Chandler. Still alive on 1911 census. Did she marry again or has she disappeared into thin air?

I have just about given up.

Don't forget that the name the person was born as may not be the name they commonly used, they may have used a second name by which the informant may have known them.

I think as in all records there is always a margin for error, and yes some may be missing...thats with out allowing for mistranscriptions...

I can`t find my grt grandmothers death at all.. been looking for years......I now know she was alive in 1911 as she appears on the census, and know fact she was dead by 1948 when my mother started dating my father, apart from that I can`t find her at all...and at £9.25 a shot i don`t want to order certs without being pretty sure its her...

so yes I feel they could be incomplete...

deaths are registered in the area they occurred. its possible someone died at an addess that came into another area, also if the death occurred at the end of a quarter it may have been reg just into the next month so would be in the following qtr after death

Are the death records incomplete? Is it just random whether a name got in to them?

To practice in how it works, I have searched on some British deaths of folks who I knew, so knew the exact date for. Some are just not showing, in the same periods and regions as others that are showing, and this includes one as recent as 1984.
