How do you know where he was born if you can't find him anywhere?

hi david for you ref the marr ref is 1b 557 hackney,london. reg in jan/feb/mar 1909. you could order the marr cert and that would at least give his fathers name and their ages and also their add at the time of marrying?

david, sorry had to dash off. right i searched on fam.org and found lionel verner greenland born 1889 hackney,middlesex. on the same page it gives the marriage 1909 in hackney ist quarter. i know the date of birth is a bit out from what you gave, but the marr date and place is the same. are you sure he wasnt born in hackney?

This is off at a tangent but bear with me...while looking fro Lionel Verner ...saw Robert Verner Greenland's marriage..as verner is quite unusual I thought there may be a connection....

Can't find a Robert Verner Greenland in census but can find this one son of Edmund in right area, Hilperton.. no record of a birth for Robert verner but there is for Robert Edmund...

Born 1877, Hilperton Wiltshire. Son of Edmund Greenland.
Birth not on register, does not appear in Censuses 1881, 91, 1901. Is in 1911, and marriage record 1909. Then no trace since.
Can anyone help
