I think for serious research, I would prefer to use free BMD, ancestry, find my past etc :-)

evening all. well i tried this way and it worked, although it is long winded but here goes.
go to search all records. then on the left side go to amend search. i then clicked record type and went to marriage and put relevant dates etc.
my marriage details came up. went back a pge with left arrow and changed record type to births. put details in and hey presto my birth details came up. phew!!
what a long way round but it worked. so gr must have done something to the birth records, because it use to work and not so long ago.
come on gr, put this right so we can get on with some serious research please.
thankyou florence

Just not working is it this new birth search it can't find people that it has already found, my Mum or Dad never existed according to Genes Reunited. but they did on Free BMD and My Heritage, thrown money away on this lot. You live and learn

Hello - my name is Billy no-mates.
I haven't got 'me' on my tree - mainly because of my unusual maiden name - which was my dad's adopted name and therefore not really relevant to my tree.
Strangely my surname isn't Winchester either - it's where I live!

I also don't exist

well, thats a relief........I DO exist on paper(allegedly) but I have to buy credits to see if its really me, and not my dad, or grandad!!!

Thanks Shirley - you're quite right, but in this case I have a bit of paper that shows that I was born on 8/8 and registered 2/9 (same year, of course!).

Your birth may come under the following qtr. or even the Mar qtr of the following year if your birthday is late Nov to end Dec.
Our Pops was born 28th Dec 1907 and his mum registered him end Jan 1908 so he comes under the Mar qtr of 1908
