To be honest it reminds me of the blown anaglypta (sp?) we put up in 1981, just before my first son was born, very expensive at the time. It was up for about seven years, plus at least 5 coats of emulsion and minus loads of polystyrene because both of my sons used to pick off !!

It's just like wallpaper we had in a tied cottage in Essex (1979/1980) - except ours was more of a mustard yellow!!!
It was foul, but being ag labs and having neither time nor money to redecorate - it stayed!!!

...It was a bit like living in an indian restaurant.......

The worst bit about that house (one source of heat - a fire in the livng room) was the kitchen and bathroom - an extension that, in the winter, had ice on the inside of the WALLS!!!

It is ghastly and the wallpaper reminds Huia and myself of Maori carvings/designs.

I know what you mean about the Indian Restaurant Maggie - used to visit an Ugandan Indian friend and the cream ceilings and walls had all taken on this yellowy hue.
