Researching my Irish Ancestry

I have made the most amazing progress in researching my family tree over the last year - but I now would love to start researching my Irish Roots. Most of my mother's family - I think - were born and lived in present day Northern Ireland - but I am struggling getting started. Any advice on how to get started on this new line of research would be just fabulous. Thank you.

Your best option to start with ..if you would like to is to pop over to the Trying To Find Board and post some of your ancestry details on the board so fellow researchers will be able to assist you

Mark, thank you so much for your help. I'll try with my mother's details and see what that turns up. I really don't know anything at all about this side of my family.

You could try the National Archives Of Ireland, on their site you log onto the 1901 and the 1911 census for free, I have found out a good bit of information.
