Anyone know what RD on death certificate is ?

The place of death that appears on a great uncles death certificate shows Etal Ford RD He was only aged 5 and his recorded office is Glendale Northumberland, Etal and Ford are the local village where he lived. Does anyone know wat R D refers to ? His death was 1927. How can iu find his burial place ?

Rural District? Just a guess.

It is rural district as opposed to UD Urban district
