About 2 years ago, hubby got talked into transferring to Talk Talk, phone . I am on Tesco net & didn't want to change to their Broadband. Hubby explained the situation & they claimed to us that our Tesco BB wouldn't be affected if we changed to their phone rental. I was dubious as I know Tesco require a BT line, but they put our fears to rest.

Change over day arrived, new phone provider & BINGO !..no broadband at all, zapped, nuffink, kaput..

Rang Talk Talk, after much wrangling over the phone (they wanted to speak to hubby as he was the bill payer & he was working away at the time for a few days)

They admitted after several calls, that their phone service had been missold to us (after hearing phone recordings that they take of calls)

However they then had to give us a further date when they would cut off the service & that was a few weeks so they
offered to connect us to their BB as a good will gesture (that took a fortnight to set up with their modem etc as it was) Had nothing but trouble getting connected & sometimes couldn't get connected at all.

Rang BT to schedule a new contract to start on the day of phone switch over. Phoned Tesco net who said as our contract had been broken by switching to another provider & losing our BT phone line for so many days we would have to be re connected & had to pay for reconnection Grrr !

All in all it took about 4-5 weeks over Xmas & new year..
A nightmare being without internet for so long !

I never ever will use Talk Talk, I would always encourage people not to use them as well after our experience, being out of pocket & without the net as well.

If they told us the truth in the first place, that we wouldn't be able to continue our broadband with Tesco with them if we changed phone providers, we wouldn't have had any trouble, or gone with them in the first place

Rant over :o))

Ah thought it was only me having problems. Most annoying, wish this had happened prior to them phoning me and signing up for another year with their promise of an even better service.

Surprise surprise - TalkTalk mail has gone down AGAIN! What a bunch of "merchant bankers".
