Could any of you experts out there give me any hints on how I might find out where and how a relative died. We know his name was William Hall he was born in 1886 in Cornwall and that he died in South Africa 4th May 1921, I have searched local Cornish newspapers of the time to see if his death made news locally as he left a wife and children in Cornwall to no avail. I have tried find my past to see if there was any record of his sailing to South Africa, but have no idea where he went he was either in gold or diamond mining, the family story is that he had a tropical disease and recently there was a suggestion he was killed in a mining accident and that his wife had received some kind of compensation, but I have no idea where to start looking. Any hints will be much appreciated. |
