Has anyone else had any trouble or heard of any trouble with this firm putting a trojan into their security software? My OH can't access any of his security software, every time he tries this firms advert takes over and says he needs to buy their software at 50 dollars. Then his own security software can't be actioned.

No Jude it is T not me and he doesn't use that one, we both have AVG and anti spyware, C Cleaner, lots of security but this antivirus.com has got on to his PC via a browser. I think he has managed to activate his spyware now to get rid of it.

If he clears out his cookies this may eliminate it

He always clears cookies. He intends e mailing the firm, which is a bona fide firm, to ask them what they think they are doing. He has managed to get so he can access everything through firefox but not through the browser he normally uses which is Chrome, we assume that is where the trojan or whatever it was got in.

Problem solved I think, he finally managed to overule it and run AVG which has got rid of the trojan.

Thank you CherryC. I have sent him that link.

rita, we both run AVG but it did not immediately stop that Trojan. It did eventually get rid of it though.

Its Malwear,,,,,,,,,...what it does attatch its self from visited sites,,it misleads into thinking a trojan has been found in order to get you to buy that product.a sales gimick..

....if it happends again just click on the X in top right hand corner..as if you click No Thanks as it knows most people will do,,it will install its self ,they are not harmful just a real pain keep popping up.,see that your ad-blocker isnt turned off by it,,,,,,

if it happens again dont click on anything, just cut the suppy to the compute without the usual shut down....,,,then restart.
