You have probably seen this, but I think it is thought provoking !
Wayne Rooney earns £250,000 per WEEK! That amount of money will pay 10 British soldiers for a YEAR. He makes front page news for all the wrong reasons. British soldiers only make front page news when they pay the ultimate sacrifice. Rooney needs to remember just how insignificant he is in the greater scheme, if you think Rooney is over paid agree or disagree it is up to you, hope I have edited this correctly lol

Payments to such as he are obscene, what use does he have except to kick a football around, he benefits only those who follow football. There are far too many people earning too much money considering the small amount they contribute to society and to those less fortunate than themselves. It was only a talent he was lucky enough to be born with that gave him that opportunity, not hard graft in any shape or form.

I also think the amount of money some people who head local councils etc earn is wickedly wrong, especially as most of the time they have people lower down in the hierachy (sp) who do the actual work, they just rubber stamp it and take the higher salary.

When you see young children in Zimbabwe (a recent documentary on tv) picking through rubbish tips for bones and plastics etc to sell to get money to pay for their education (no money, no school) or for food and basic necessities, it makes me weep for the inequality and unfairness.
Then I see the prices people pay for a designer handbag or similar pathetic item and weep some more.

Sadly that is the way many young people are brought up now, to aspire to owning a designer item or several, instead of learning how to share and care for others who are less able for whatever reason to earn megabucks.

Funny old world....

Its obscene ! He should spend a week with our servicemen in Afghanistan and see what they have to deal with for their meagre pay. Rooney doesn,t know how lucky he is or appreciate anything he,s got including his wife.
He needs a reality check as do many more arrogant and overpaid footballers.

It says a lot about society when cat-bin woman and Wayne make front page headlines , but coffins passing through Wootton Bassett get 20 seconds on the lunchtime news.

My blood boils when I see the headlines of £250,000 a WEEK for Rooney. Sir Alex should have shown him the door, and whereever he was employed should have only offered him SAY £50,000 a week. I still maintain that no one in the Sport is worth even that amout of money.

Go back to the old day professional footballers. £25.00 per week. I've heard of inflation, but come on !!!!

And he hasn't scored for over 6 months, apart from a penalty. Top quality NO WAY.

As my old dad (nearly 90) said when sat in me kitchen this morning " It's a beggar whent lad can earn more in a week for kickin' a bag a wind around than a Prime Minister does in a year for leading the country, well theres summat wrong wi' country ".
No he was not wearing a cloth cap or muffler, but he did leave his whippets on the doorstep.
