I had to laugh when I saw the title

I did my degrees at Liverpool, and the old Workhouse was still the Botany Annex for much of that time.

It was across Brownlow Hil from the main part of the university (of those days), and right next to where they were building the "new" Catholic Cathedral.

We could look down on the building of the Cathedral ...... and quickly christened it The Rocket Launching Site.

4 years later, I spent another 4 months working up on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Workhouse as we waited for a building to be renovated.

By this time the Cathedral was complete .............. but engineers had moved into the basement and spent their time making big bangs that shook the whole building.

I never found a place to bathe though!

I have to admit ................. many of us did not like to work late in that building, even when there were other people around. Some of the technicians refused point-blank to stay.
