Have sent you a reply.

Unfortunately I cant see a way of installing your latest FTM version without being in possession of the actual program disks.

You could transfer the tree data as a gedcom or native FTM data file, assuming you have a means to copy it across, but I don't think this is what you are asking.

Thanks for the quick answer Bob. Unfortunately the notebook has no cd/dvd writer and I'm not sure how to copy the programme. I have sent my question to the Inspector.

can the notebook save to cd?maybe not?? or memory stick?

if so, you might be able to copy the new program complete with data to a cd/flashdrive then you may be able to import it to the laptop

Inspector green pen may the guy to ask though!!
look up one of his posts, and PM him..

I have a laptop and a notebook, before we started on our travels my son loaded the latest FTM onto the notebook for me, but on the laptop I have a much older version, which is the one I use to add information to.
I'd like to have the newer version on the laptop too, but the programme disk is in storage on the other side of the world. Is there any way I can copy it from the notebook (no external cd/dvd writer) to the lap top
