Aw bless him Teresa, am smiling, typical boy no
big thing to them to have dirty knees. Am glad to hear it settles as they
get older and have never heard of the syndrome,
it doesn't seem to stop him playing games and
getting on with his life. Good on him.

Emma,my son has got a condition called osgoods schlatters syndrome the GP thinks. Its when the child grows too quickly for their bones and they get an overgrowth of bone usually in the knees where my Sons is. His cousin and several of his mates have the same thing. It affects Children between 10 and 15 and settles down as they get older. It can cause pain especially after sports.

He had rugby today and informed me that he had dirty knees, they were caked in mud, how embarrasing! He could of said before we left to go to the hospital. lol

Hope all is ok. Our display is at our Beach
not unless they have changed venue or the
powers that be are playing scrooge this year.
It's just a shame that not everyone can get to
the controlled displays for one reason or another.

We live near the local footy ground and can watch their display from Daughters bedroom window!
The youngest is not keen but we used to take eldest to some nice displays with my Sister in Law.

Off to take son to Hospital for x-ray to knee.

You could be right Teresa. I also remember that.
My Grandchildren were taken to organised displays
when they were young.

When I was youg in the 1970s I remember lots of the public information films about Firework saftey,one featured a cat called Charlie. TV programs like Blue Peter used to give out warnings as well.
In those Days there were less organised displays and people had fireworks more at home so maybe thats why.

It just crossed my mind that the fuss made
of kids playing conkers and helmets and goggles
needed in certain things that H andS have not
mentioned anything for firework safety (that I know
of)

id love to take him to a proper display but the traffic is horrific,
i dont like them being outide incase they topple over and shoot out towards them,

i do allow him sparkles but only if he has his gloves on, xxx

Morning Stray sounds good fun. When my kids
were young they too stayed in doors to watch as
they weren't keen, preferred the sweets and colouring
books we bought them.

iv never heard anything, about firework safety that is, iv herd plenty of fireworks
we have 2 boxes from last year so dnt need to buy any this year,
we will be aving a family party to let them of kids behind the front room window x

As the sound of fireworks fill the evenings of late in my neck of
the woods does anyone know where the Health and Safety lot
stand on this. A great deal made of children playing conkers etc
but I can't remember seeing anything said about fireworks, have
I missed it?
