gdau and boyfriend came for lunch and went off with various goods, a pair of antique ear-rings over 100 years old belonged to her g.g.g.aunt (had to count the g's), a viners cheese board set (never used), Grandad's chutney, jam, beetroot and pickles, bag of his scones etc etc! Had a lovely lunch cooked by OH. Nice to see them both as she lives in London now but calls in each time she visits her parents and emails/rings often etc. We are so lucky. |

Glad I came on here. I've just been in my greenhouse getting Vine Weevil grubs out of various plant roots (little b's) and thought to myself that I was too late to plant my sweet peas, so thank you Merlin - I shall plant them tomorrow. |

A rod is the same apparently as a perch or a pole (I recall these terms vaguely from school tables) and a rod is 16 1/2 ft long!! I googled it!! Vine weeviles are little toads so are lily beetles |

Hello Wend., I have done loads towards putting my garden to bed, but still have some to do. Weather not too great here at the mo., and I havn't got much incentive. But, going out to hairdressers tomorrow, so, hopefully I'll perk up, and face the rest of it. |

Thanks. I remember very little about maths at school. Always hated it and still do. |

Hello Julia - yes, I'm feeling a bit lethargic too - think it might be something to do with the clocks going back. |

Wend the threadkiller here - it wasn't lamb, it was Jamie's recipe for macaroni and cauliflower cheese mmmm. Got to go - have a 'fasting' blood test at 8.40 tomorrow, so that's me on the water for 12 hours very soon. Got to spend 25 mins stuffing my face >>>>>> runs off to the kitchen :-(( |
