Yeah ... none of the fancy shmancy margarine we eat in my house these days.

When I was a kid we did mostly eat butter, even though we weren't rolling in money. I do definitely remember mixing the little packages of dark-orangey colour into the lard-looking stuff margarine was then, though.

Don't know about over there -- over here, there were laws that margarine had to be darker or lighter than butter, so nobody could pass it off.

When I was in university and then first started working, I was definitely poor and I had to squeeze pennies, so margarine it was.

One of the first things I decided when I started making more money was: no more margarine! And -- I could buy myself some green grapes sometimes when I felt like it. ;)

But then came middle age ... and bad fats ... so it's back to margarine.

No.1 has his olive-oil kind, and I have my no-salt kind (because I like it no-salt, just like I do butter, but it's better for you too of course).

But I keep a pound of butter in the freezer for when the bread is fresh and white and soft and not at all whole-grain, and the urge is irresistible. ;)

SEMI SKIMMED MILK
CHICKEN INSTEAD OF RED MEAT

AN GUESS WHAT
ITS MADE ME IRON DEFICIANT & ANNEMIC SO BAD
AND CANT TAKE IRON SUPLIMENT
AN NOW THEY CANT DO TRANSFUSION

SO I DECIDED I MIGHT AS WELLEATWHAT I LIKE
PROPER MILK FOR A START

AND FOOD THAT TASTES LIKE FOOD
