The only pier we saw on our visit to England 15 years ago was Brighton, just a little too early for the season (the fortune teller caravan was for rent, and I was tempted ...), but we had a lovely afternoon.

These piers are such a terrific bit of English heritage. Sad to see the fate of the Hastings one.

My o.h. and i used love walking along the peir at Hastings when we lived in St. Leonards.

Some lunch times i would go there too.
