I liked her Liz - I was just checking to see if someone had put something on the boards about her.

I remember after watching her movie An Unmarried Woman in the late seventies - I took to wearing long white socks to bed as she did. I really enjoyed that movie.

It is very sad to see her go - she certainly showed courage.

Jill Clayburgh the Oscar-nominated actress who starred on Broadway, TV and films including An Unmarried Woman and Dirty Sexy Money, has died.

She was 66.

Her husband, playwright David Rabe, said Clayburgh was surrounded by her family and brother when she died on Friday morning at her home in Lakeville, Connecticut., after a 21-year battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Rabe said his wife dealt with the disease courageously, quietly and privately.

Besides appearing in such movies as I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can, Silver Streak and Running With Scissors, Clayburgh's Broadway credits include Noel Coward's Design for Living, the original production of Tom Stoppard's Jumpers, and the Tony Award-winning musicals Pippin and The Rothschilds.

Clayburgh was also nominated for an Academy Award for Starting Over, a comedy about a divorced man, played by Burt Reynolds, who falls in love but can't get over his ex-wife.
