I like Christmas...I like the glittery things in the shops, I like baubles and fairy lights and tinsel. I like to window shop and think of all the things I could buy for various people if I could afford to. I like Christmas trees in shops, carols on the tannoy system, grottos and people looking mildly embarrassed dressed as elves.
I like the smell of mince pies, and oranges and apples, I like Christmas stockings and magazines with 'reader's homes' pictures of roaring fires in inglenooks. I like hand made 'folksy' decorations, and paper chains and wrapping paper.

and watching schmaltzy Christmas films on Tv and reading Dylan Thomas's 'A Child's Christmas in Wales' every Christmas eve.

and sleigh bells..

I love Christmas, but you and I don't usually mention it before our birthdays :-)

True Joy lol, but the boxes of Christmas stuff are piled up by me at the moment and this year I can put them up without worrying about whether I make drawing pin holes in the walls :))

I like it when it begins about 1 Dec not when mince pies etc are selling in October.

I love Christmas too although the build up can be stressful. I love Christmas Day when I have the family together for lunch and people dropping in all afternoon. I have my mum to stay although she only lives 10 minutes away so she doesn't wake up alone. I cook for everyone and spoil the family and now having grandchildren we talk of Santa.
