it's 16k that is the 'cut off ' savings amount at present,

re single mothers , if the child is under school age it is income support that a single mum receives, not JSA ( unless of course there are plans afoot to alter that ).

Might be SueMaid, lol can't find where I read it now :)

C ) I bet they soon do a U turn on this one , can you imagine the chaos in the Job centre if hundreds of stressed young Mums ( with their babies / toddlers in tow ) start filling the place up . I pity my poor brother , he hates his job , he has been there for years , having to roll with new initiatives......yes , he works at a Job centre .

and on the subject of B ) ..... are the souvenirs really going to be made abroad and more to the point , do we really know where anything is made these days ? I've just watched the " Dispatches " programme about the illegal textiles factories in England that produce clothes for our High Street fashion shops , the clothes are supposed to be being made abroad but are being produced in Leicester !!

I haven't seen any of that Rose.

a is insensitive at the very least. Not sure how much compensation she got or if he supported his mother so difficult to comment. No amount of money will bring the lad back, but it does seem it should not have happened on remembrance day.
b doesn't surprise me
c, What do they have to attend for? To sign on? Are they expected to work? What is supposed to happen to their children? Are creches going to be encouraged?
d I have no sympathy with them

A bit windy but no raining here.

Doesnt the system say more than 6grand and benifits are affected ,as injust as it seems one rule must apply to all,,,poor woman.

if single people are reciving JSA then its a condition to be looking for work,,that must include mums aswell.

as for bored housewives,they need to get out more}}}}

weather here is fair to middling with a bit of cold air on the side.}}

apart from the Olympic goods..now why didnt they get some of the unemployed stitching away or give it to prisioners instead of sewing mail bags,,,,,}there all sorted....

LOL young Rose,

I like the bit about
D) "Millions of British women bored by their lives because of 'endless housework, no money and a dull sex life' ?
I have often read on these boards that most of the women don't do housework....lol...and regarding their dull sex lives, I think it also applies to men as well.....LOL

I am totally disgusted with this government, reducing the pensions that servicemen get.....will they reduce theirs...I think not.

We unfortunately have lost a lot of our manufacturing companies and skills, and the ones we do have out price themselves.

I have no feeling either way regarding single mothers.

a) "the Grieving mother has income support stopped on Remembrance Day… because she got compensation for the death of soldier son"?

b) that 90% of souvenirs for the 2012 Olympics are made abroad ?

C) that siingle mothers of children age one to 5 will have to attend regularly at the job centre?

D) "Millions of British women bored by their lives because of 'endless housework, no money and a dull sex life' ?

Or shall we just stick to the safe, "hows the weather where you are?' lol
